Yto Aranda investiga distintos lenguajes, desde su formación pictórica a nuevos medios digitales, a través de desplazamientos y cruces multidisciplinarios. Desde 1997 comienza a trabajar en Internet. A partir de este acontecimiento ha desarrollado un fuerte interés en temáticas relacionadas con comunicación, colaboración y desarrollo de comunidades. Desde el año 2008 su trabajo se centra en la realización su idea de pintura electrónica interactiva. Directora y creadora de la Revista Online Escáner Cultural (1999 - 2010) e impulsora de la Comunidad Abierta Arte, Ciencia y Tecnología (2007 – 2010).Titulada el año 1990 como Licenciada en Artes mención Pintura en la Universidad de Chile. Profesora Aplicaciones Multimediales, Universidad del Pacífico. Participa permanentemente en exposiciones y proyectos relacionados con Arte y Tecnología, principalmente en Chile, Canadá, Argentina y México. La obra se exhibe en su proceso en espacios físicos y en la web. Es una Pintura Electrónica Interactiva constituida por módulos de 30 x 30 cm. Su tamaño final todavía no está definido y no tiene fecha de término preestablecida. La propuesta es sonora y visual. Consiste en una serie de circuitos, algunos creados especialmente y otros reciclados, todos insertados dentro de la pintura, en la cual el espectador tiene acceso a botones, switch y sensores mediante los cuales puede intervenir con la obra.
